This lady was one of the most amazing, engaging, and interactive speakers I’ve ever witnessed

Keynote 1 - Psychological Injury Risk and Institutional Silence

New for 2020

Psychological Injury Risk and Institutional Silence

Overcoming the barriers to creating positive mental health cultures.

Psychological injury claims are some of the most expensive workers compensation claims, often lead to more lost work time and involve complex investigations. As well as the economic impacts, organisations have obligations to create psychologically safe workplaces, to recognise and control for risks and to appropriately respond when issues arise.

Organisations today are ‘doing more with less’ and implementing ‘lean principles’. Doing so while maintaining a productive, vibrant and safe workforce can be a challenge. Relentless change and pressure in organisations have increasingly resulted in employees reporting higher levels of stress, which negatively affects productivity. Leaders need to understand how to prevent, recognise and appropriately respond to mental health issues in the workplace. This includes unhealthy levels of stress, excessive demands and conflict. However, the responsibility doesn’t only sit with leaders. Organisations as a whole need to take responsibility for minimising and appropriately responding to risks of psychological harm.

Tasha is currently conducting PhD research in the topic of organisational mental health and institutional silence. In this session Tasha will present the latest global and local research on psychological injury risk, appropriate controls and strategies to implement to meet your needs.
This session is particularly relevant for conferences where delegates hold senior Executive / Safety or HR positions in their organisation or industry.

Keynote 2 - Bloom at Work

Bloom at Work

Enhancing psychological wellbeing in the workplace.
Almost half of all adults will experience mental health issues in their lifetime and this can have wide reaching costs and impacts for the workplace. Unfortunately, despite the high impact of mental health issues in the workplace, many leaders do not know how to recognise or how to appropriately support an employee who is developing mental health problems.

In this session Tasha outlines the 5 steps organisations need to follow to develop a Workplace Mental Health strategy that delegates can apply in their own organisations. This session will reduce stigma around mental health issues and provide practical tools on how to open a conversation with someone you’re concerned about.

Leaders will leave this session understanding their obligations around workplace psychological safety and be better equipped to appropriately recognise and respond to mental health issues in the workplace.
This session is particularly relevant for conferences where delegates hold leadership positions in their organisation or industry.

Keynote 3 - It’s Time to Bloom!

It’s Time to Bloom

Over the last twenty years we have seen targeted awareness raising programs which have helped improve our collective mental health literacy. Many people now understand that mental health is an integral part of health. Almost half of all adults will experience mental health issues in their lifetime and this can have wide reaching costs and impacts. However, rates of mental health issues do not seem to be reducing, and some risks are increasing. We need to do more than talk, we need a revolution of how we approach mental wellbeing. In this session Tasha outlines the 5 steps we can each take to improve both responsiveness to mental health concerns, and importantly how to proactively improve our mental wellbeing.

This session is an interactive and energising session that agitates delegates to take proactive responsibility for their own mental wellbeing and to better support those around them.

Keynote 4 - Leading Positively Through Change

Leading Positively Through Change

When change feels like it is never-ending and is having a negative impact on your organisation and industry, people can become resistant and disruptive. Our most common approach to managing change is to focus on the WHAT and the WHEN and we forget about the WHO. Yet, it’s the people (THE WHO) that either makes or breaks the change process.

Change and growth is important for any business to stay successful, so it is important that you ensure your leaders are well equipped to make the most out of your ever evolving sector. This session provides an overview of the process, impacts and psychology of change and draws on neuroscience to provide clear strategies for individuals to bloom through times of change.
This session is particularly relevant to leaders in business, however it can be adapted to all levels of employees.

Duration: 1 hour or customisable for your event

    Tasha’s presentation was the highlight of our program – she is engaging, knowledgeable, inspiring and has a wonderful rapport with her audience. The topic she spoke on: ‘Stress or Blooming? Sow the seeds of success and nurture wellbeing in the workplace’ was highly relevant for our delegates who work in the aged and community care sector, and are currently undergoing huge changes through aged care reforms.  We were also very happy that in addition to learning practical strategies for managing stress and nurturing wellbeing in the workplace, our delegates were able to access online resources from Blooming Minds following the session. We would have no hesitation in recommending Tasha and Blooming Minds to any organisation.

  • Joel MillerCreative Director {TEDx Perth}

    We were thrilled to present your inspiring and moving talk on mental health. The response to your talk was overwhelmingly positive.

    Some of the wonderful comments that were made:

    Your presentation truly touched us all. On behalf of myself and my colleagues, I’d like to say how we are thinking about new ways we can reach out and help our community in a profound way as you did.

    I was prepared to be bored, but this lady was one of the most amazing, engaging, and interactive speakers I’ve ever witnessed. Worthy of a TED talk.

    Her delivery was as excellent as the content of her presentation. Her presentation would not be out of place at any TED event or TED.com.

  • Teresa SantoroTraining Manager, Aged & Community Services Western Australia Inc. {Aged & Community Services WA (ACSWA) People Management Forum}

    Tasha engaged her audience by sharing her experiences and up to date knowledge about mental illness in the workplace. It was an entertaining and lively presentation that captivated the audience, making participants feel at ease in opening up discussion throughout the session. The feedback has been fabulous. Thanks Tasha!

  • D. CramerAuthor {Happiness and its Causes Conference}

    Tasha spoke not only with obvious knowledge but also great heart. Her presentation was practical and accessible and left listeners with insights and tips that they could begin to use straight away in dealing with adversity or simply delighting in the blessings in life. One of the things that spoke most loudly about Tasha's presentation was her willingness to be vulnerable. It was a powerful way to begin a great session that left me feeling that I had the keys to both bloom and be buoyant, a great extension on the topic of resilience.

  • Naomi CarterManager Professional Development, The Academy, Department of Corrective Services

    We engaged Tasha Broomhall of Blooming Minds to customise and deliver the "through the looking glass" session at our leaders development conference. Our organisation had been through an intense period of change and some of our leaders were needing supports for themselves as well as for their staff. The session provided us with a positive framework to assist us to personally identify and manage our own anxiety around the change as well as how to positively lead others through this process. Stress and anxiety can be a confronting topic for some to discuss publicly however Tasha managed the issue with sensitivity and humour and it was a brilliant investment in our staff. I can wholeheartedly and enthusiastically recommend Tasha as an exceptional, inspiring and incredibly experienced facilitator with a clearly evident passion to assist others in improving their lives through greater awareness and care for self. Tasha ensures she is well briefed as to the requirements, context and participant needs of the session, and deals with the content in a sensitive and respectful manner.
