Mental Health First Aid
What is included in the MHFA course?
Mental Health First Aid provides essential skills for appropriately responding to mental health issues. This course is designed for all adults, and is especially suited to OSH, HR and other workplace first responders.
The MHFA course covers the symptoms, functional impacts and recommended interventions for common mental health conditions such as:
- Substance use problems
You will learn how to assist individuals in crisis, i.e someone who is experiencing:
- Suicidal thoughts and behaviours
- Non-suicidal self-injury
- Panic attacks
- Traumatic events
- Severe effects of drug or alcohol use
- Severe psychotic states
- Aggressive behaviours
