  • E. BrownHealthier Workplaces WA

We contacted Blooming Minds to run a Lunch ‘n’ Learn information session for our clients in Perth, WA. Throughout the whole process, they were exceptional to work with. From first contact to the day of the presentation, communication was prompt and they were quite flexible with the presentation content, to ensure it would be relevant for our target group. Tasha’s presentation style was engaging and she was personable, creating a forum in which attendees felt comfortable to ask questions and contribute to discussion. We have received very positive feedback from those who attended about the content and Tasha herself, being a knowledgeable presenter. I would not hesitate to recommend Blooming Minds if you’re looking for a presenter in the area of Mental Health; we will definitely be engaging their services again.

  • H. LoncarHR Coordinator, City of Albany

...The dispersal of many myths and misconceptions we held has helped us develop a more open and welcoming environment for all and reminded us that everyone is human and deserves to be treated as such. I would highly recommend this course to any individual or organisation trying to make the positive step toward better Mental Health Awareness.

  • N SmithL & D Officer, Lavan Legal

Having conversations around mental health and signs to look out for. I thought it was brilliant.

  • M DaleySargeant/Supervisor, WA Police

When dealing with mental health "patients" ALGEE has given me a structure to questioning and a method to get a person help.

  • P BaylissOccupational Health and Hygiene Advisor, Woodside Energy

Tash is an amazing presenter. This has been one of the best courses I have ever attended. Good practical advice I can now return to my workplace with the confidence to assist my colleagues.

  • G EvangelistaFaculty Manager, UWA

The course covered a very engaging topic which created a sense of ownership in knowledge, responsibility to self and others in creating a positive and supportive work environment.

  • L McDonnellGroup Finance Manager - Business and Commercial, HBF

A fantastic, practical and frankly essential course for all managers. I am grateful that my organisation values mental health enough to make attendance compulsory for all people leaders.

  • S ConnorPharmacist, Rocks Mosman Pharmacy

I found the presentation by Tasha to be riveting. She presents the course content in a compassionate, practical, informative and at times, humourous way which makes it so easy to relate to.

  • A ColesCEO, WA Museum

This course has made me more aware of the ways in which I can positively contribute to the mental health of all staff by creating a culture in which it is acceptable to talk about the issues.

  • S KowalskaS. Kowalska and Associates

A highly informative and enjoyable overview of Mental Health First Aid. Comprehensive and engaging. Tasha Broomhall's presenting style is exceptional.

  • M ProudClinical Services Coordinator, Legal Aid ADR Unit

Clients of LAWA's dispute resolution program often come with a multi problem presentation. A major factor in that 'multi-problem' area is the client's mental health and its bearing on their capacity to participate meaningfully in mediation conferences. Legislation requires us to determine client suitability both before and during conferences. We asked Blooming Minds to do two presentations to our mediators and intake officers about client mental health - specifically on psychosis and related drug issues; and on depression. We asked that the presentations provide some theoretical understanding and importantly be practical in their application.

Tasha's presentations were extremely well received. They were appropriately humourous, soundly knowledge and evidence based and very practical. Tasha provided activities in the presentations that were very relevant and brought home the point of her material. She provided suitable written material for attendees to take away and refer to. Without exception, everyone left the presentations with an expanded 'tool kit' of what to look for, how to think about issues, and how to respond to the person, not 'the problem'.

Tasha obviously has a wealth of knowledge and experience and knows what is and is not achievable in her presentation time-frames. After discussion with us, she tailored her material to our need.

I would unhesitatingly recommend Tasha Broomhall and Blooming Minds to any organisation wishing to upskill their staff in the area of mental health.

  • H O’ConnellHealth Promotion Coordinator, Water Corporation

The mental health sessions we have been running through Blooming Minds have helped reduce the stigma associated with mental health problems and has started a slow change in culture, where it is acceptable to talk about these issues in the workplace. I have had great feedback about employees being able to communicate better with their managers/supervisors in regards to their mental health problems, and also vice versa, with supervisors and team leaders being able to address issues with employees that they didn't previously have the confidence or skills to address. The programs we have run, have led to HR consultants requesting more training in the areas of mental health. Particularly dealing with difficult situations such as grief, anxiety, depression, and other mental health disorders. Implementing these programs has helped raise the profile of mental health, and the executive see this as a priority, and something that should be resourced through OSH in the coming years. Psychological risks need to be addressed, just as physical risks do.

Tasha and her team are very flexible, and are happy to go above and beyond to help our employees and our business. Tasha has a unique ability to build a rapport with employees and create an atmosphere where they feel comfortable to ask advice and seek further support. We will continue to use these services, because the employees have built a relationship with Tasha, and value her as a presenter and a mental health professional. Tasha does not try to put the 'hard sale' on, but actually identifies genuine workplaces needs and works with us to address them. I would recommend Blooming Minds to any workplace, they are friendly, flexible and genuinely care about the mental health needs of our organisation.

  • T JonesAssistant Director Strategic Services and Community Engagement, HaDSCO

The Health and Disability Services Complaints Office (HaDSCO) recently completed Mental Health Fist Aid training though Blooming Minds. As facilitator and presenter, Tasha was enormously engaging, enthusiastic and knowledgeable. Her personal anecdotes, humour and insight into the subject proved inspiring and highly engaging for our staff. Tasha's flexibility and willingness to accommodate our needs in delivering the training and adapting the training to meet our specific requirements is to be commended. As an office, there has been unanimously positive feedback to the training and many requests to engage in further training with Tasha. I would not hesitate to recommend Tasha Broomhall and Blooming Minds.

  • Renee WardBusiness Services Officer, Northam Water Corporation

The Northam Water Corporation had the pleasure of working with Blooming Minds a few times throughout last year to provide Stress Management training to our employees. While I was organising the course dates and times with Tasha and Anna I found them both to be very friendly, helpful and understanding of the rescheduling.

We first had Stress Management training at our Northam Regional Office on the 28th August and we received very positive reviews from the 20 staff who attended the training with Tasha. We then decided to book 3 more training sessions with Blooming Minds in December 2014. Tasha was able to travel to Kalgoorlie, Merredin and then back to the Northam Regional Office. We found this very helpful to us as it gave other staff members out in the districts who are located further away the chance to learn techniques to deal with stress.

After each session I asked a few people who attended each course to give feedback on what they thought about the training. They all agreed that Tasha was a great presenter and a down to earth person who made them feel comfortable. Staff also thought that the tools they learnt to help with stress was something they could use every day and they found it useful as it helped them to see the relationship between their social and work life.

I would highly recommend Tasha and the team at Blooming Minds to another corporation or business as they were very easy to work with. If the Water Corporation were to hold more Stress Management training, we would most definitely use this service again.

  • A SleemanMarketing, HBF

This course gives light to a very real problem, it helped remove stigma associated with mental health and has equipped me to feel comfortable in managing issues.

  • J LeeHealth and Safety Officer, HBF

The course was highly beneficial enabling practical tools that can be applied in various difficult situations and provide perspective for consideration of employees with mental health issues.

  • S NeylonMgr Special Services, Brightwater Care Group

After years in the health sector, it was fabulous to be re-invigorated and motivated to better understand mental health and how I can be more effective in supporting and managing staff.

  • K BurtonCoordinator Corporate Systems, HCN

I highly recommend this course to anybody who manages staff in the workplace as it provides practical tools and advice on how to approach issues that may involve mental health in the workplace, building leaders' confidence in tackling situations for the best outcome for the staff involved and for the organisation.

  • M David HRS, Univeristy of Western Australia

Gets you thinking, helps to understand the prevalence of mental illness in society and how to help manage it at work.

  • J. HainesManager, Health, Safety and Wellbeing, HBF

Comprising part of our employee wellbeing strategy, HBF has been working with Blooming Minds for over three years. Recognising the importance of supporting the emotional health of our employees and to equip our senior people with tools and knowledge to better care for their teams, HBF has now enrolled Blooming Minds to train over 100 of our people leaders in Mental Health First Aid. Our people regularly comment that this has been one of the best training programs in which they have participated. Tasha Broomhall is an outstanding facilitator whose knowledge and delivery style engage and educate our people to feel informed and more capable of dealing with mental health issues both in the workplace and in their personal lives. The Blooming Minds experience is not something that "goes on the shelf" but becomes engrained as knowledge and skills to be used for the rest of your life. Over the years we have found Blooming Minds to be an organisation with whom we enjoy doing business. They are well organised and help us plan ahead whilst also being responsive, generous and flexible to our needs. We would certainly recommend Blooming Minds to assist others in workplace mental health and look forward to continuing this partnership.
