Yes, we’re a bit late. We do hope however, that you all had a wonderful Christmas and New Year and were able to take some time to relax and spend time with your loved ones. And now of course here we are in February already, and how are you going?
Take a few moments to pause and reflect on January. Did you live the way you want to live? How you will feel if the rest of the year follows the same pattern? Once December comes around will you feel proud? Happy? Like you’ve achieved a goal or goals? Will you feel grateful? Or distressed? If the rest of the year continues in the same way as January will this be a pleasurable and satisfactory year for you? Or does the thought of that scare you?
The great news is, it’s only February. Still plenty of time for you to make some changes and live more aligned with your values. So get to it! What can you do to maintain momentum or change the pace or events for the rest of your year?
One idea you’ve likely hear me talk about before is our Find 4 notepads. It’s purpose is to serve as a reminder that good mental health can, and should, be nurtured. Each week try to fill in doing 4 positive nurturing nourishing things for yourself – big or small, just something to move you from being a human doing, to a human being.
Positive, nurturing things don’t have to be expensive (a walk along the beach, focusing on playing with your children, reading a good book that you’ve been dying to get to) but you do need to make the time to do them.
