GenWHY? Support Group Inc has been providing fortnightly support group meetings in Perth for the past few years.
Amanda Stephenson founded GenWHY? after she was diagnosed with depression at 27 and experienced first hand the gap in services and support for people her age. Meeting other people and being able to share experiences, without stigma, shame or lack of understanding was instrumental to Amanda’s recovery. This has also proved true for many GenWHY? members over the years.
GenWHY? provides fortnightly support group meetings for people over 25 years experiencing depression or anxiety. GenWHY? is the only group in Perth that utilises the unique combination of psychologist facilitation and peer led support. our psychologist utilises a client-centred approach and maintains up to date knowledge on the latest tools and and research to ensure members get the best advice and support they need. GenWHY? provides a comfortable, personal environment for members to gain the knowledge, information and inspiration to improve their mental health and wellbeing.
GenWHY? also provides quarterly wellbeing workshops such a meditation, nutrition, exercise and goal setting to ensure that members gain the lifestyle skills required to manage their mental illness.
