Mental Health First Aid (MHFA)
This 2 day course teaches adults how to assist other adults experiencing mental health problems or who are in a mental health crisis. The course can be delivered as two consecutive days, two non-consecutive days or as 4 modules of 3.5 hours each.
Mental Health First Aid for the Disability Sector
This 2 day course has been customised to meet the needs of those working in the disability sector. Particular attention is paid to the co-occurrence of mental health issues and disability and how this affects the recognition of symptoms, functional impacts and treatments. This course will equip staff with the knowledge and skills to recognise and respond to developing and ongoing mental health issues in their clients, as well as in themselves and their colleagues.
Mental Health First Aid for Aged Care
This 2 day course has been customised for those working in aged care services. This course will equip staff with the knowledge and skills to recognise and respond to developing and ongoing mental health issues in their clients, as well as in themselves and their colleagues.
Mental Health First Aid for Perinatal Services
This 2 day course is designed for those working with women during pregnancy and the postnatal period. It equips participants with the knowledge and skills to recognise and respond to specific mental health issues that are relevant to women at this time.
Mental Health First Aid for Employment Services
This 2 day course is customised for those providing employment support services. The material is relevant for both open employment and business service staff.
Youth Mental Health First Aid (YMHFA)
This 2 day course is designed for adults to learn how to assist young people experiencing mental health problems and who are in a mental health crisis. The course can be delivered as two consecutive days, two non-consecutive days or as 4 modules of 3.5 hours each.
Caring for a Person With Mental Illness
This 1 day program is relevant for services that provide in-home or facility based support to people living with mental illness, family members who provide care and other carers. This interactive program teaches participants about the common mental illnesses, how living with these illnesses impacts on a person's functioning and the types of support and intervention that carers can provide to assist with this, as well as how to support their own wellbeing.
Adolescents, Alcohol and Mental Health
This 2 hour session is designed to inform parents and teachers about the risks of alcohol and other substances to the mental health of their children. The session is designed to be used in schools and to be followed up by the participants working together to support their young people with alcohol use issues.
Mental Health & Wellbeing for New Parents
This 2 hour session assists those about to become parents, or who have recently become parents, to identify their own mental health needs and to develop plans and strategies to enhance their own wellbeing.
Mental Health & Wellbeing
This 1.5 hour session explores the continuum of mental health & wellbeing and encourages participants to adopt strategies to optimise their own wellbeing.
Blooming Well at Work
A 3 hour program which enables participants to assess their current stress levels and to develop strategies to cope with work related stress and anxiety. Participants leave the session with a mental health plan and techniques to drive and enhance their own mental health wellbeing.
Mental Health First Aid for Supervisors and Managers
This 2 day course has been customised to enable supervisors and managers to recognise and appropriately respond to staff members who are experiencing mental health problems or who are in mental health crisis. Participants will learn the symptoms and functional impact of common mental health problems and reasonable accommodations that can be made in the workplace to meet both the employee and employer's needs.
Psychosis
This 3 hour program covers the symptoms, functional impact and resources for Psychosis. Participants learn how to recognise the symptoms in themselves or others; how to approach someone whom they believe is experiencing a psychotic disorder, and gain information about community supports that are available.
